AECOM Buildings + Places (B+P) is seeking a leader for the Federal Civilian Regional Market Sector Leader for the Southeast Region. The primary responsibilities will be to maintain, cultivate, and grow client relationships within the building and design Federal Civilian/ non-DoD Agencies, oversee and lead major pursuits, and lead multiple projects and programs through all phases of planning/ design and construction. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the development of regional market growth strategies, which articulate market trends/drivers and recommended priorities to successfully invest and grow, consistent with the national business line, region, and AECOM’s overall growth objectives.
This position will have a dual reporting to the B+P Southeast Regional Business Line Leader and the National Federal Market Sector Leader for the Americas. The Southeast Regional Federal Market Sector Leader will be responsible for achieving annual sales goals through keen understanding of the Federal building and design market place and ability to lead and win key pursuits. The Southeast Regional Federal DoD Market Sector Leader will also work in close coordination with the National Governments team of Client Account Leaders, Business Line Leaders, and Regional Business Leaders in targeted pursuits across building and design Architecture, Building Engineering, Master Planning, Interiors, Asset Management, and Workplace Strategy.
This position will be based in the greater DC Metro area.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provides day-to-day administration of the building and design Federal Civilian Market practice for the Southeast Region.
Will execute defined practice goals and business plans
Monitors the status of all building and design Federal Civilian Market projects
Regularly reports regional status to the national Federal Market leadership team
Assists in pursuit/client engagements
Management and preparation of strategic/ key proposals, contracting and teaming negotiation, project management and establishing and sustaining relationships with key consultants to support the Federal business
Responsible for the development and achievement of regional business line sales and revenue goals across all disciplines within Buildings + Places.
Develops and executes strategic practice planning and marketing strategies.
Works closely with National Federal Market Sector leadership on the execution of key growth initiatives.
Periodically acts as Project Lead on specific projects
Serves as business line Client Account Manager for specific client relationships
Prepares and executes business plans for area of responsibilityConducts interviews/presentations at the executive level
Communicates business performance at the end of each accounting period
Collaborative and integrated delivery leader for all disciplines providing building and design services to the Federal Market Clients: Architecture, Interiors, Engineers, Consulting and Planning.
Participates in developing annual business plan for the practice
Identifies new business opportunities while developing current client relationships
Leads capture strategy on key marketing and business development opportunities
Develops and maintains positive relationships with consultants, contractors and jurisdictional/approval agencies
Assists in development of fee proposals for marketing proposals as well as leads presentations with Business Line Leadership
Participates in local or state professional associations and conferences
Participates in interviews and recruitment of professional staff
Conducts employee performance evaluations, responsible for performance development
Participates in office design reviews and critiques
Works closely with senior project managers on the execution of Federal projects
Bachelor's degree in building and design Architecture or Interior Design
12+ years’ related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 4+ years of leadership experience. Experience must be in architecture projects with prior management experience in all phases of projects including experience in sales, business development and/or marketing
Understands the industry, regional client needs, and market drivers
Understands and is passionate about alternative delivery strategies within the Federal market (i.e. GSA, DoS)
Deep understanding of building and design Federal Civilian Clients across planning, traditional A/E services, and alternative delivery acquisition strategies.
Proven ability to successfully develop client relationships and win work
Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint, InDesign or other presentation software
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
20+ years of related experience is strongly preferred
Security Clearance preferred, but not required
