Job Summary
AECOM is looking for a self-motivated, experienced GIS Specialist to work as an on-site contractor at a client site to provide GIS data management, analysis, standardization, and visualization services to the Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM) GEOfidelis Program. The GIS Specialist must have the skills and experience necessary to work independently standardizing the process required to produce a Military Installation Map (MIM).
This position is located at the Pentagon in Washington DC.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop a standardized process to produce MIMs using third-party and non-Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) data layers supporting the Topographic Data Store (TDS) integration with SDSFIE data layers that support the development and cartographic representation required by Training and Education Command (TECOM) for approval and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) publication.
Coordinate the completion of five remaining MIM cartographic sheets associated with Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma, AZ.
Document the procedures, data sources, standards, and tools used to design a process-driven, repeatable MIM cartographic product that is compliant with all TECOm and NGA standards.
Analyze, plan, develop and communicate space management requirements and standards to key stakeholders and across project teams.
Organize, document, and communicate status updates to program leads and relevant project teams.
Provide programmatic support and subject matter guidance on managing, as well as coordinating, space management initiatives.
Meets with subject matter experts to discuss topics, such as technical specifications, customized solutions and operational problems.
Develop/manage web-based geospatial content/apps/systems and maintain a digital GIS Program Binder detailing the processes and actions involved in completing assigned duties.
This position is based at the Pentagon in Washington DC.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in geography, planning, engineering, computer science, or a related technical field with emphasis in geographic information systems (GIS) + 4 years of experience with ArcGIS Desktop/Enterprise or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Experience with esri’s Data Interoperability extension and GIS feature extraction techniques.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel to various supported Marine Corps Installations.
US Citizen based on need to obtaining a secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of experience working with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) suite of standards
3 years of experience with Topographic Line Map (TLM), Military Installation Map (MIM), or Military Installation Commander’s Special (MIMICS) map products.
2 years of experience with feature extraction based on Topographic Data Store (TDS) or Multinational Geospatial Co-Production Program (MGCP) content specifications.
2 years of experience with esri’s Defense Mapping extension for ArcGIS Desktop.
Must have the ability to work independently and with a team of professionals.
Excellent time management and communication skills.
Will be required to work independently and communicate directly with customers from multiple business areas.
