Responsible for initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline engineers.
Under direct supervision, completes design assignments of moderate complexity.
Applies an intermediate level of understanding within a specific discipline.
Familiar with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
Familiar with the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
Understands the purpose of vendor documents and uses them as a reference for assigned tasks.
Basic knowledge of the use of requisitions and the role of materials management.
Basic knowledge of the process of performing material take-offs for the discipline.
Basic understanding of the discipline’s equipment and material lists.
Candidates should display outstanding design and graphic skills, expressed through a developed portfolio and/or full design and construction drawing sets
Candidates should also display strong communication, planning and collaboration skills, and be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment on a variety of projects and tasks.
The candidate will participate on project teams through the planning, design, and execution of projects and will work with senior designers, technical coordinators, discipline leaders and project managers to develop creative solutions to a myriad of challenging project types
The candidate, in conjunction with the project team, will be responsible for implementation of the design and production of all phases of an Interiors project including programming, test fits, space plans, design development, construction documents, construction administration and furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) packages
The Interiors Workplace Discipline within AECOM is a highly collaborative environment and the prospective candidate should have maximum capacity for flexibility when it comes to project roles and attempting new skills or unfamiliar tasks. Leadership capabilities and qualities are preferred and appreciated
Candidates should possess working knowledge in design and production of all phases of an Interiors/Architecture project delivery including programming, test fits, space plans, design development, construction documents, construction administration and furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E) selection
Candidates should display outstanding design and graphic skills. Visualization and rendering skills are preferred but not required. Candidate should also display strong communication, planning and collaboration skills, and be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment on a variety of projects and tasks
Candidate should have experience working with clients, as well as internal and external project teams, to execute the project from concept to completion. Candidate is knowledgeable in industry standards and all applicable building codes
Candidates should be proficient in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: Revit, Sketch-Up or other visualization software, Adobe Suite (InDesign & Photoshop, especially), and Microsoft Office products NCIDQ, AIA Associate, LEED AP preferred, or candidate demonstrates the desire and intention to acquire appropriate professional accreditation and certifications
