AECOM Copy & Editorial Writer/Editor I in Anchorage, Alaska

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Copy & Editorial Writer/Editor I to be based in Anchorage, AK. This would be a part-time hourly position. This person will edit and format technical environmental documents prepared by others under the supervision of a senior editor. Assignments would be received as needed on a weekly basis.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Working under the supervision of an editor, senior editor, or writer

  • Reviewing technical documents per style guides

  • May conduct research for references cited in documents

  • Checking hyperlinks

  • Copyedit documents under guidance

  • Document production and working with senior editors as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate Degree in a related field (English or Communications).

  • Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Fast learner, able to work independently but with oversight from lead and supervisor

  • Passionate about grammar

  • Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat (508 compliance experience using Adobe a plus)

  • Flexible and willing to support multiple projects as needed

  • Prior consulting experience is preferred, but nonconsultant candidates with relevant experience will be considered
