AECOM In Town Services (ITS) has a rare opportunity for an experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to join their team based in the town of Alice Springs on a full time 3 year fixed term basis with possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator you will perform the maintenance and repair to equipment associated with the HVAC infrastructure in their properties. This includes, but is not limited to, maintenance of residential refrigerated ducted, package and split system air conditioning systems, residential evaporative systems, ice machines, water chillers and domestic refrigerator repairs. Scope of work will range from minor and major repairs, servicing and where necessary replacement of equipment.
Work is performed at residential properties in the town of Alice Springs. Occasional overtime and callouts will be required.
The responsibilities of the Refrigeration / Air Conditioning Mechanic include, but are not limited to:
Maintenance tasks; either programmed (planned) maintenance or repairs as required
Checking and overhauling refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults and repairing and replacing defective components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges and copper lines.
Leak testing, pump down and recharging AC systems
Testing and adjusting air flow in ducted AC systems
Adjusting system controls and mechanisms and reassembling systems
Tasks for project type work as required
Liaise with others to notify and organise tasks to be undertaken as required
Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks
Work as part of a team
Assist in other areas of facilities and maintenance area from time to time as required
Work to ensure that Safety is an integral part of everyday activities
Undertake all work in safe and professional manner
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a willingness to be flexible
Other duties as directed by the VESTA management team.
NT Restricted Electrical License
ARCTick License (Refrigerant Handling Licence)
Current Driver’s License
Demonstrated 3-5 years’ experience in construction and industrial maintenance work
Ability to work within a team environment
Ability to work professionally with minimal supervision
Good interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Good communication skills – verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete assigned tasks
Demonstrated ability to identify and analyse issues and develop solutions to problems
Australian Government NV1 Security clearance or ability to gain one.
Dual trade as an electrician
Previous experience within SAP (computer system)
Training in appropriate safety procedures (i.e. Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tag out, etc.
Strategic with proven project management skills.
- Trade Qualification – Cert IV in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning systems.
