Job Description
AECOM - Hunt is hiring a Safety Manager to support a construction project site in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is a great opportunity to become part of the growing Hunt Construction Management Group!
Job Summary:
Develops and manages SH&E programs for the company, business lines, regions, and/or clients. Provides leadership and support to Operations to help the organization achieve SH&E goals and objectives. Assists the business to meet regulatory requirements relating to specific SH&E obligations e.g. trained SH&E professionals in business/projects, officer duties, statutory reporting etc.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Under limited supervision, manages one or more ES&H functions within an ES&H department or group within a subsidiary.
May manage the environmental safety and health function(s) on a large project.
Is fully competent in most aspects of the job.
Work is complex and requires independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Uses independent judgment and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS Occupational Safety or related curriculum and 8 years of relevant safety experience in a construction environment or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual skills- English and Spanish both verbal and written
CSHO or CHST certification.
BS/BA Occupational Safety.
10 years of experience in construction safety.
Experience in the administration of Safety programs for construction projects.
Experience leading safety related teams.
Knowledgeable of various construction trades/skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Valid Driver’s License to operate an AECOM provided motor vehicle on construction project site(s) to support project tasks assignments and scope of work. For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.
