Job Summary

Savannah River Remediation, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a

Software Developer to be based in our Aiken, SC location.

Software developer is responsible for design, development, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of applications to improve company processes. Developer will work closely with the customer and senior analyst to develop efficient solutions while following development procedures.


  • Develops applications and interfaces between systems using company defined life cycle processes and tools (e.g. VB.Net, C#.Net, Asp.Net, PHP)

  • Assists with the gathering of functional and technical requirements

  • Maintains IIS, Tomcat, and Apache web/application servers by monitoring performance and applying security patches as appropriate

  • Works closely with the Cyber Security department and more senior analysts to ensure secure coding techniques are being used

  • Develops documentation including: requirements and design documents, user manuals and application maintenance manuals

  • Creates Test Plans and performs system testing according to documented test plan

  • Studies internal system protocols and dependencies

  • Monitors system health, analyzes software issues and implements enhanced functionality

  • Provides ongoing systems support

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field and 3+ years of application programming and support experience. A combination of education and/or experience can substitute for the BS degree on a year for year basis.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience and aptitude with relational database models, query optimization, and data translation and mapping

  • Functional experience with and knowledge of industry standard based secure coding practices particularly in a Government environment

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks
