AECOM Associate System Administrator/Network Specialist in Aiken, South Carolina

Savannah River Remediation, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking an Associate System Administrator/Network Specialist to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.
This Specialist develops, designs, and maintains the computer network infrastructure (including hardware, software, and installation) that supports the distributed control system (DCS) and simulator, and supports equipment connections to the DCS.
Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks using specific, detailed instructions to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.
Conducts testing of network systems.
Provides specifications and detailed schematics for basic network architecture.
Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Increases technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
May design and plan network systems.
Contacts are primarily immediate supervisor, project leaders and other personnel in the group.
Errors are typically corrected without a major effect on the organization
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science from an accredited university or;
Bachelor’s degree in a field other than computer science and 1+ year of practical experience which may include relevant internships or;
Associate’s degree and 2+ years of practical experience or;
High school diploma/GED and 4+ years of practical experience
Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must be a US Citizen
