Job Summary

Due to our strong pipeline of projects we may have an opening for an experienced Quantity Surveyor. The role would be based in Tema, Ghana. We expect to mobilise in September 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for:

  • Preparing estimates of construction costs;

  • Measurement of building quantities for bill preparation and final accounts;

  • Drafting Bills of Quantities;

  • Site visits and site measurement;

  • Presenting the practice at meetings;

  • Preparing valuations for issue of interim payment certificates;

  • Preparing and concluding final accounts;

  • Bachelor’s degree of Science in Quantity Surveying.

  • Professional Membership.

Minimum Requirements


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying

  • Minimum 5 years of experience on large construction projects

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the employ of an engineering consulting firm

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working for an international construction contractor or consulting firm.

Specific skills required:

  • Knowledge of the programme development cycle (engineering, procurement and construction) and understanding of construction sequencing.

  • Strong technical, procedure and report writing skills.

  • Ability to collate information accurately.

  • Communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Time management and prioritization skills

Person Specification (Personality Attributes):

  • Attention to detail with a capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Empathy towards staff and colleagues.

  • Staff training skills.

Additional Comments:

  • Eligibility to work in Ghana (due to nationality or work permit) is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree of Science in Quantity Surveying.

  • Professional Membership.
