Job Summary

AECOM is seeking to hire Senior Project Manager ORAT (Trials Support) to be based at Abu Dhabi. He / She will provide senior level project management of ORAT projects and ensures completion, on time and within budget in accordance with AECOM contractual obligations. Responsible for scope development and scope management of particular ORAT projects or work streams covering operational planning, operational readiness, activation, trials and transition, as well as the commercial performance of projects to meet goals and objectives. Develops and executes a structured approach for the activation and transition of new airport facilities from construction delivery into operational service whilst minimizing the risks of operational disruption associated with bringing large complex airport facilities into operational service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and define the ORAT scope for projects and/or work streams across people, process, facilities, systems & performance

  • Plans, directs, supervises and manages the execution of ORAT deliverables, associated work plans and effort utilizing a 180, 90, 60, 30 day countdown tracker

  • Manage the ORAT project lifecycle and deliverables through operational planning, operational readiness, activation, trials and transition stages

  • Engage and collaborate with operational stakeholders and client organizations to ensure alignment of the overall ORAT plan and that operational stakeholders are prepared and ready to commence operations

  • Monitors and reports on the progress of all projects activities within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedules

  • Develop, plan and manage the associated budget for ORAT projects / work streams

  • Ensure ORAT project documentation is maintained and passed to the client through to handover

  • Acts as the Company representative with the Client and selected consultants and contractors during the program execution, negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and follow up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.

  • Assigns responsibility to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths and provides input to performance reviews and development plans

  • Prepare proposals and qualification documents in the interest of obtaining new assignments

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance policies and procedures

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this positions as may be appropriate

Specific skills required:

  • Airport project and ORAT experience

  • Good working knowledge of Internationally-accepted ORAT principles and practices

  • Good knowledge airport products, services and processes.

  • Good knowledge of airport technology.

  • High level of critical thinking, problem solving, numeracy and English literacy skills.

  • Good negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation.

  • Clear verbal communication skills.

  • Uses diplomacy and tact in discussions with other parties. Contributes to team building and enhancing morale across the team / project.

  • High level of computer literacy

  • Experience in management of multidisciplinary, project management teams, in the delivery of ORAT projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience, managing large scale projects with an airport operator, major consultancy, contractor or developer in Oman and the Middle East. Project Manager experience on large scale ORAT projects is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in business administration, architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or similar subject

  • Specific Project Management training and qualification

  • Membership of a Chartered Institution (MICE/ MIEAust / MCIOB/ MRICS preferred)
