AECOM Senior Bridge Design Engineer - Railway Structures in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Development of design concepts, carrying out detailed design of bridges, underpasses, rail structures and other infrastructure structures.
Produce detailed design information including calculations and design sketches.
Provide technical lead on design tasks.
Liaise with CAD/BIM Technician for production of drawings.
Plan and carry out site inspections of structures, if required.
Prepare technical reports.
Carry out risk assessments and provision of design information for Health and Safety.
Inspection, assessment and strengthening of road/rail bridges and other structures.
Report writing and production of technical reports and documents.
Championing innovation and demonstrating technical leadership to small size team.
Specific Skills Required:
Must have minimum of 10+ years of hands on experience in Bridges. UAE/ME projects experience would be preferred.
Relevant experience in inspection and assessment of bridges and other transportation structures is preferable
Must have worked at a similar level on major civil infrastructure projects.
Understand the commonly used forms of contract and the implication to drawings produced on each project as per client requirements.
Shows willingness and enthusiasm, actively contributes.
Supports colleagues, seen as a team leader.
Verifies that work carried out is correct as per client requirement.
Knowledge sharing to junior Technicians.
Experience with various software packages for analysis and design such as Midas, STAAD, SAP, RM Bridges.
Ability to take ownership of tasks involved
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignements.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
- Minimum Requirements 10 years of work experience
Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.
Preferably educated to MSc level or equivalent.
Chartered Engineer (MIStructE, or C.Eng. from UK) or Professional Engineer (PE from USA) is highly preferred.
PMP is preferred.
