Job Description

Our Buildings practice are currently seeking a Project Director , to join our multi-disciplinary team. As a Project Director , you will play a critical role in overseeing the technical delivery and commercial management of projects on behalf of AECOM. Your primary responsibilities will include delivery management, technical and financial risk management, change control, resource monitoring, program management, procurement management, and coordination of specialist sub-consultants. You will lead a multidisciplinary technical design team to ensure the realization of our clients' aspirations while aligning our delivery strategy with their expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery Management: Lead and oversee the successful execution of design projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.

Technical and Financial Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical and financial risks associated with projects to ensure their successful delivery.

Change Control: Implement effective change control processes to manage project scope changes and variations while minimizing disruptions to project timelines and budgets.

Resource Monitoring: Monitor and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize efficiency and productivity.

Program Management: Develop and maintain project schedules and plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.

Procurement Management: Oversee procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier management, to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Specialist Sub-Consultant Coordination: Collaborate with specialist sub-consultants to ensure their contributions align with project goals and meet quality standards.

Client Alignment: Work closely with clients to understand their aspirations, maintain open communication, and ensure that project outcomes align with their expectations.

Contract Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to contract terms and conditions throughout the project lifecycle.

Design-Construction Interface Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination between the design and construction processes to maintain the integrity of the client's brief.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Proven experience in project management within the engineering industry, with a minimum of 15 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong technical and financial acumen, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, including the ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus
