As an Associate Interior Design you would serve as a fully capable professional under the direct supervision of Senior Associate or Associate Director. The Associate leads an Interior design team (circa 5 staff) and plans, (including budget + resources) schedules, organizes, coordinates and executes the design work on projects of all scales members.

Job Duties
Project/Design Responsibilities
JD1. Organises own and others work to achieve set deadlines
JD2. Responsible for the completeness & accuracy of own work. Responsible for the correctness,
accuracy and complete multi-disciplinary coordination of the design documentation prepared by the
assigned team
JD3. Prepares and/or reviews BIM models and drawings and co-ordinates using Navisworks and other
coordination software
JD4. Adopts creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develops appropriate research and
documentation to support these solutions
JD5. Develops specific, standardized procedures to achieve project requirements and deadlines
JD6. Proactively checks and coordinates project documents (including but not limited to multi-disciplinary
drawings, design reports, technical specifications, etc.) and ensure they meet Client requirements
and Industry Standards
JD7. Manages accuracy and quality of discipline BIM model information, presentation, and coordination
JD8. Takes accountability for own and subordinates work
JD9. Able to produce presentations in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and carries out QAQC
JD10. Collaborates/communicates with other disciplines regarding coordination issues and common
design tasks
JD11. Regularly reviews and checks team deliverables for accuracy, efficiency and thoroughness ensuring
delivery is as per Client requirements and Industry standards
JD12. Manages Team regarding coordination issues and common design & BIM model development tasks
JD13. Communicates with clarity, purpose and accuracy
JD14. Determines solutions, methods and procedures on assignments to deliver products & services
JD15. Provides guidance to junior staff
JD16. Prepares designs, sketches, diagrams, reviews and edits specifications
JD17. Manages coordination of design using Navisworks and other coordination software
JD18. Participates in pro-active coordination with internal and external design disciplines to achieve a high-
quality consistent set of presentation or design documents as per Client requirements and Industry
standards
JD19. Responsible for the preparation and compilation of design presentations and reports
JD20. Leads team meetings and brings ideas and solutions to the table
JD21. Developed knowledge of AECOM’s QMS procedures
JD22. Plans for and applies Safety in Design principles throughout all design stages of a project
JD23. Manages preparation of and checks material schedules and sample boards
JD24. Developed knowledge of local & international codes, regulations and applies this knowledge into
their project work
JD25. Attends / Leads client meetings
JD26. Confidently present work to colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
JD27. Provide technical support to site supervision teams and resolve design related issues on site
JD28. Coordinate and develop responses to 3rd Party review comments, tender queries, contractor’s
queries, etc.
JD29. Contribute, from the onset of a project, to the design of innovative and progressive design solutions
that reconcile client’s goals, priorities, the underlying ‘story’ and spatial flow together with primary
and secondary ‘layers’ while fostering opportunities for design excellence
JD30. To perform and/or direct material and building system research and participate in the co-ordination
and preparation of project specifications
JD31. Periodically checks the samples library
JD32. Responsible for key design input at early design phases and for general design leadership during the
course of the project
JD33. Produce vignettes/hand sketches of interior and FF&E ideas that work in the space and meet the
intended goals including branding & positioning
JD34. Prepares various schedules such as finishes, FF&E and carries out QAQC
JD35. Plans and manages design work ensuring project objectives are met, design instructions are
implemented, and delivery is achieved within the set time and budget
JD36. Ensures the quality of technical work produced by team meets Client requirements and Industry
standards
Efficiency in Design
ED1. Apply and reinforce standard designs and products across work programmes
ED2. Rigorously challenge the teams to drive efficiency in our design programmes
ED3. Coordinate efficient outsourcing / offshoring (GDC etc.) of workload
Managerial Responsibilities
MR1. Planning and monitoring others work to achieve set deadlines
MR2. Mentoring Intern, Graduate and junior team members
MR3. Coordinates and lead the assigned team of Interior Designers and Technicians on a day to day basis
and ensure that design excellence is achieved throughout
MR4. Leads design work on projects of medium to large scales ensuring project objectives are met, design
instructions are implemented, and delivery is achieved within the set time and budget fee
MR5. Leads design team meetings to ensure all team members are participating and providing feedback.
Motivates them and facilitates them to bring ideas and solutions to the table
MR6. Responsible for Interior Design resource planning for the project and reporting project needs to
senior team members
MR7. Routinely interacts with clients, contractors, local authority representatives and others using skills of
persuasion and negotiation to resolve critical issues
MR8. Promotes teamwork within Interior Design team (including the GDC), maintaining positive moral and
instilling a creative culture within the team
MR9. Manage interface between Interior design team / site supervision team ensuring proper design
support is provided in a timely manner
MR10. Support junior staff in activities to develop their technical excellence
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 12 years post undergraduate experience
Proven related professional experience in an Architectural or Interior Design Practice
Experience of working on large scale projects including site experience
Preferred Qualifications
Batchelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Interior Design
International Accreditations (BIID, AIID or equivalent)
Sustainability Certification (LEED, PQP or equivalent)
