Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking an Associate Director - Project Management to take responsibility of the overall performance of A large project for Abu Dhabi, UAE

  • To represent the firm in all matters so as to successfully deliver the consulting service in line with client and company policy objectives. An Associate promotes the company in the client community and, participates in industry bodies and lobby groups to elevate recognition and regard of the firm both locally and nationally.

  • The role extends to ensuring staff performance, the proper administration of the project and associated administrative functions.

  • Runs large / complex / major projects through the project lifecycle with limited director involvement

  • Manages multiple internal and external teams.

Job Duties:

  • Client liaison and client management.

  • Responsible for overseeing design delivery.

  • Responsible for overseeing construction delivery.

  • Leading implementation of the AECOM safety program.

  • Ownership and implementation of the project Vision and, responsible for updating and communicating to the project team and obtaining management, support and approval

  • Accountable for the Project financial operating performance, including invoicing, collections, cost control and optimizing GSR/NSR and margin.

  • Creating a working environment where teamwork is a top priority, leveraging off the benefits of providing the full range of services within AECOM.

  • Developing and maintaining a communications plan for all project stakeholders and regularly updating in conjunction with the project team and the client

  • Producing, updating and reporting on the overall project programme and action.

  • Communicating critical path activities that will influence key milestones.

  • Ensuring critical internal milestones are incorporated into the programme

  • Commercial understanding and administration of the project operating and legal documents.

  • Production of project reports including, monthly and quarterly reports.

  • Ensures compliance with AECOM corporate governance and Integrated Management System

Specific Skills Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Candidates with native Arabic languages skills preferred.

  • Good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts or similar

  • Previous experience of delivering large infrastructure progammes including but not limited to:

  • Roads, bridges, tunnels and city wide utilities

  • Knowledge of local and international legislation associated with delivering projects in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

  • Registered / licensed Engineer in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 10-15 years of related work experience, a broad general engineering background, and previous Middle East project management experience on similar or related project types is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in construction or project management or similar built environment subject

  • Specific Project Management training and qualification

  • Membership of a Chartered Institution (MICE/ MCIOB/ MRICS preferred)
