Serves as a fully capable professional who manage a relatively complex project on a range of smaller but more challenging projects as part of the project management team. The responsibility expands to cover planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project managers designate project resources, prepare project budgets, monitor progress and keep stakeholders informed the entire way. The Project Manager acts as part of the interface team between the external Client and our professional team. He/she will from time to time act as a Bid Manger for small to medium scale project opportunities or be part of the bid management team for large to mega scale opportunities.

Takes accountability for own and subordinates work
Collaborates/communicates with AECOM Senior Management, Clients, Contractors and others using skills of persuasion and negotiation to resolve critical issues
Communicates with clarity, purpose and accuracy
Ensure Project managers advise Building engineering teams of any changes in project delivery timelines
Routinely interacts with clients and contractors representatives and others using skills of persuasion and negotiation to resolve critical issues
Leads / Participates in scheduled fortnightly project reviews of internal and external design disciplines to achieve a high-quality consistent set of presentation or design documents as per Client requirements and Industry standards
Report on any findings of mis-conduct by staff members
Understand and implement (where applicable) the time frame required for AECOM’s QMS system.
Lead / Attend Client and Design Meetings on a monthly basis
Check / Ensure (where applicable) Safety in Design exercise has been carried out on projects
Prepare / Review presentations for Clients, senior management
Check design and construction programmes for accuracy and interdependency of predecessors on new activities
Confidently present work to colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
Ensures through subordinates, that projects are completed on time and meet all requirements of the Design Brief
Planning and monitoring others work to achieve set deadlines
Approve travel, expenses and invoicing
Lead / support management meetings and brings ideas and solutions to the table
Ensure Healthy Starts and Technical Delivery/Project Execution Plans are prepared and presented for each of their projects at commencement
Ensure Client Satisfaction surveys are actioned for own portfolio
Leads / Participates in scheduled reviews to check project deliverables for accuracy, efficiency and thoroughness ensuring delivery is as per Client requirements and Industry standards
Applies advanced knowledge to facilitate the completion of high quality, cost effective projects
Applies advanced knowledge and experience to manage the day-to-day work of own teams
Plans and directs the practice for his or her own team
Understands and implements project management principles and able to work within project budgets which includes fees and designing to construction budget
Ensures the quality of technical and commercial bid documentation is correct and not contradictive.
Support in initial assessment of potential new projects and competitions
Ensure commercially sensitive communication with Clients is reviewed and distributed to the commercial teams
Leads / Participates in scheduled reviews to check project status and ensure the project is financially healthy, on time and deliverables are being achieved.
Ensure their project spends are released on a weekly basis and reviewed
Report on any findings of project slippage, financial overspend
Leads the preparation of major bids and proposals on the commercial and technical side
- Delegates effectively and efficiently where appropriate and follows up on delegated tasks up to completion of the task.
Minimum 10+ years post undergraduate education
Proven related professional experience in a Project or Construction Management Practice
Experience of working on a range of smaller but more challenging projects including design management experience
Specific Skills Required:
Ability to fulfil all the above duties and responsibilities.
Complete Aecom Bid Model (ABM), Managing AECOM Projects (MAP), ePM & have a working operational knowledge
Good knowledge of timeframes for the design process and construction activities and interdependencies of construction activities.
Ability to develop design and construction programmes and review programmes by others for their accuracy.
A good awareness of Autodesk BIM 360 Glue, Navisworks, presentation software and managing projects in a BIM environment
Developed skills in the use a variety of software / media and presentation tools
Ability to review design programmes and understand the dependency on activities
Understanding of Safety in Design requirements
Flexibility of attitude towards company objectives
Extensive project experience and understanding of the design process and interfaces between design disciplines
Must be a team player, have a positive attitude, and be a self-starter
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability and motivated to update skills and expertise through continuing professional development (CPD) initiatives
Full knowledge of AECOM’s standards, policies, codes and procedures and ability to transmit the same to others
Demonstrate knowledge of discipline interfaces, design timeframes, design process
Excellent command of English (written and spoken). Knowledge of other languages is an added value.
Knowledge of Statutory Authorities requirements, knowledge of local & international codes, regulations and submission requirements
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and MS Project and other Management tools
Good schedule, scope, cost, quality, resources, stakeholders, procurements, and communication management skills and constantly seeks to streamline processes and procedures to increase quality and efficiency
Builds positive long-term relationships at a working level with internal & external clients
Full understanding of scope definition and scope interface and ability to transmit the same to others
Full understanding of AECOM’s commercial management of projects and instils the importance of financial health and profitability
Full understanding of Delegation of Authority matrix and thresholds.
Full understanding of Middle East Risk Committee (MERC), RFA, RFPA (WAR) procedures and timelines – ensure early action
Full understanding of risk management and ability to communicate the same to others.

B.Sc. in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
International Accreditation (PMP, APM, CMI or equivalent)
