AECOM Architectural BIM Lead in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Job Summary

We have an opening for an Architectural BIM Lead for a large complex leisure and culture project. You would lead and coordinate with all of the disciplines Architecture, MEP, Structures, and our international BIM delivery team.

Serves as a capable professional in an architectural design team, creating, developing and finalizing production work on projects with minimal direction and supervision of a Senior Architect or designated senior team member.

Core Accountabilities

  1. BIM Model and Drawing production (in accordance with BIM Execution Plan & BIM standards compliance, completeness & accuracy)

  2. BIM Model and Drawing co-ordination (within Architecture & Cross Discipline).

  3. Guiding and management of junior staff

Job Duties

Project/Design Responsibilities

  1. Organises own and others work to achieve set deadlines

  2. Independently checks the completeness & accuracy of own work prior to review by the Senior Architect or designated senior team member

  3. Prepares BIM models and drawings and co-ordinates using Navisworks and other coordination software

  4. Adopts creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and, undertakes appropriate research and develops documentation to support these solutions

  5. Follows specific, standardized procedures to achieve set results and deadlines (as set out by Senior Architect or Senior Team member)

  6. Proactively checks and coordinates project BIM models and drawings and ensure they meet Client requirements and Industry Standards and project BIM Execution Plans

  7. Ensures accuracy and quality of discipline BIM model information, presentation, and coordination

  8. Takes accountability for own work and work performed by all team members under their supervision

  9. Prepares various schedules such as walls, partitions, doors, louvres & finishes and carries out QAQC

  10. Collaborates/communicates with other disciplines regarding coordination issues and common BIM model development tasks

  11. Regularly reviews and checks their own deliverables for accuracy, efficiency and thoroughness ensuring delivery is as per Client requirements and Industry standards

  12. Works with the team to communicate, solve, and update BIM models for coordination and design issues.

  13. Communicates with clarity, purpose and accuracy

  14. Determines solutions, methods and procedures on assignments to deliver products & services

  15. Provides guidance to junior staff

General

  1. Keeps abreast of the latest software/ techniques to increase productivity

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualification

  1. Bachelor of Architecture or Diploma in Architectural Technology

  2. International Accreditations (CIAT or equivalent)

Specific Skills Required

Project/Design Responsibilities

  1. Ability to fulfil all the above duties and responsibilities

  2. Good technical knowledge of practice line discipline

  3. Advanced understanding of the design process and interfaces between design disciplines

  4. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Autodesk BIM 360, Navisworks, presentation software and working on projects in a BIM environment

  5. Develops BIM content based on BIM modelling standards and as outlined in BEP

  6. Knowledgeable of Industry BIM standards, processes and general approaches

  7. Knowledge to set-up the configuration and administration of projects for respective discipline in Revit and AutoCAD

  8. Performs BIM model QA/QC checks on projects according to established and company standards to ensure accuracy and quality of discipline models

  9. Ability to extract, manipulate, validate and present BIM model information as required

  10. Implement BIM modelling techniques and processes to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the production process e.g. scripts

Preferred Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years post undergraduate experience

  • Experience on large complex buildings projects

  • Must have a leisure or culture background

  • Previous experience coordinating with all of the disciplines Architecture, MEP, Structures
