Job Summary

  • Drives projects and business organizations toward achieving intended business results within a contracted time and budget (Management).

  • Manages large, complex projects of forty plus resources or a program of related projects of forty plus resources across all phases of the project life cycle (Management).

  • Participates in project reviews, validating estimates, schedules and associated work products (Management).

  • Oversees assigned personnel for project. Assigns work and provides direction with regard to timeliness and completion of project objectives. Addresses performance issues within prescribed guidelines. Provides performance input upon completion of project. (Management).

  • Reviews case for action, principles, constraints and assumptions for completeness and obtains buy-in from executive sponsors for the mission, vision and strategy and case for action (Business).

  • Manages client expectations and balances the needs of the company and clients to ensure satisfaction for both (Relationship Management).

  • Influences decisions and project direction at the executive level (Relationship Management).

  • Identifies bid leads through established networks (Leverage).

  • Develops compelling proposal strategies and win themes; participates in sales calls (Leverage).

  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel (Leadership).

  • Presents to large size groups of key decision makers at the executive level; develops and communicates vision and purpose, encourages contribution and support from others. Contributes to proposal orals and division and company-wide events (Communication).

  • Understands and leads the opportunity through the bid process, ensuring compliance with company processes and corporate policies. Supports sales / coverage teams and solution leadership to define the strategy, win themes and value proposition. Identifies and applies industry best practice and innovation to continually improve bid/capture processes and approaches.

  • Leads pursuit efforts including strategy development, pursuit planning, presentations, concepts, visit reports, draft specifications, customer responses, internal coordination, and periodic reviews. Establishes and achieves deal timelines, approvals, governance and cadence.

  • Develops a business case for complex executive management bid decisions. Develops solutions to meet customer needs while positioning company for future initiatives.

  • Engages and develops trusted relationships with key clients (as appropriate) and company thought leaders to ensure deep understanding of the nature of the deal and the client requirements. Acts as the primary conduit for the bid team. Assesses and interprets client’s requirements and ensures the win strategy, win themes, basis for qualification and competitive analysis are appropriate for the type and size of opportunity. Maintains strategic business relationships with key decision makers.

  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Draws on extensive business and bid/capture management experience to explain the intricacies of complex deals to the bid team. Mentors and develops future company talent.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; 15 years of progressive management experience; and excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills required.

  • Must be articulate with executive presence, creative and forward-looking, clear thinker and decision-maker, change agent, and have a track record of continuing education.

  • Position generally requires extensive travel.

  • Position requires an active Government Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree and experience in a government IC contracting environment preferred.

  • Strong communication skills to interact with and persuade team members and customers

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills for interacting with bid team members and clientsStrong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong ability to create and maintain formal and informal networks

  • Strong ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to understand and identify with client business and its corresponding business conditions

  • Ability to translate understanding of client business and needs into services which AECOM can offer to improve client's business
