AECOM is seeking a Sr. Radar Engineer to support the Fighters & Bombers Directorate (AFLCMC/WW) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Perform requirement analyses and system capacity analysis, investigate alternative solutions and architecture trade-offs, make assessments, support operations concept development, and document results.
Review and/or develop draft systems engineering documents in support of Milestone reviews and events.
Participate in team meetings and technical reviews.
Support hardware/software development and related system ground and flight test activities.
Support Airworthiness directives and assist in platform approval and certification.
Possess knowledge of radar theory and principles, and an understanding of the radar design, development, and the implementation process. Expected activities include providing technical advice and serving as the technical interface between the government customers and the radar manufacturers, interacting with customers, participating in meetings, and producing technical detailed products.
Perform technical activities associated with radar waveforms and signal and data processing techniques that provide robust performance in electromagnetic interference (EMI), electronic counter-measure (ECM), multipath, ducting, and clutter environments.
Apply an understanding of DOD, AF and common engineering/scientific principles, processes and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future AF and joint service weapon systems.
Perform technical/mission analyses of existing and future operational requirements, assist in developing system concepts and perform technological/trade-off assessments of proposed designs/modifications.
Perform materiel solution analyses leading up to design reviews.
Assist in translating user requirements into system requirements.
Provides support to produce or review products that include technical evaluations/plans, engineering studies, reports and analyses, and acquisition strategies/plans/documents.
Develops and collects technical data and inputs for staff summary packages and executive briefings
Supports project team meetings, working groups, and reviews.
Analyzes equipment and software deficiencies, make recommendations for equipment and software deficiency corrections, and develop, integrate, and test equipment and software deficiency solutions.
Supports the development and evaluation of program schedules and engineering cost estimates.
Performs, as required, an advisory role for program source selections on all engineering related requirements.
Performs and provide specialized electrical engineering support in execution of its engineering support mission.
Candidate shall have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience and an accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Must obtain and maintain a government security clearance at the required level.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other standard (customer specified) applications.
