AECOM has a dynamic opportunity available for an outgoing, high-energy individual to be a part of an exciting program within our Transportation Demand Management (TDM) group in Wilmington, Delaware! In this position, you will be a member of the RideShare Delaware team which manages the Delaware Department of Transportation’s TDM program through the State’s public transit provider DART First State. This program aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality by encouraging Delawareans to use green, active transportation modes such as carpooling, public transportation and bicycling. As a RideShare Delaware Intern you will be responsible for assisting in the areas of Outreach, marketing, administration, and project management
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assist with preparing materials for tabling events, presentations, and other types of outreach events.
Assist by working at tabling events (employer-based and community) to promote the RideShare Delaware program to local commuters.
Through events, educate commuters on the options available including carpooling, transit, vanpooling, biking and walking and register them for programs/services including Guaranteed Ride Home, ridematching and special promotions.
Assist the administration team with data entry, organizing databases, and contacting RideShare Delaware winners and database validation calls.
Assist the project manager on other various projects.
Currently enrolled as a Sophomore or Junior at a local accredited university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Education, Public Health, or other related major.
Articulate and energetic individual and comfortable conducting public promotional/marketing and encouragement activities.
Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills and experience in handling multiple tasks in an organized and efficient manner.
Ability to achieve objectives through teamwork.
Some heavy lifting (<30 lbs) may be required.
Some Saturday events may be required
Field office work will require a current valid driver license, and a good driving record.
Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required
Qualified applicants who are offered a position may be required to pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Strong computer skills and demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Preferred candidate can work 15- 20 hours per week.
