AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented architectural designer for immediate employment in the GTA, based out of the Whitby, Office.

The ideal candidate specializes in modeling, animation, texturing, lighting, and rendering. He/she is highly proficient with a full complement of industry standard software including Autodesk 3ds Max Design, Trimble SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro, in addition to Mental Ray and Corona rendering solutions. At AECOM, he/she will be able to develop their skills with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Civil3D; and Bentley’s Microstation. He/she also has an understanding in video compositing, image manipulation, and presentation construction. He/She will be responsible in delivering exceptional detail in all areas of design and has a strong eye for organization, detail, and spatial relationships.

The successful candidate will be responsible continuing to build and maintain our library of pre-existing assets, vehicles, and vegetation adds to the realism and believability of the final rendered products. As well, he/she is well versed in creating presentations within Power Point; creative documents in InDesign; colored CAD layouts and textured 3D models in Photoshop; diagrams in Illustrator; animated composites in After Effects; and interactive, playable applications in Unreal Engine 4.

Responsibilities as working with a larger team managed by an architect may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design Concept drawings (Compulsory)

  • Sketch plans (Compulsory)

  • Presentation drawings/rendering and videos with a high level of detailed visualizations (Compulsory)

  • Attending meetings with other disciplines with the architect (i.e. engineers, quantity surveyors, land surveyors, etc.)

  • Obtaining technical inputs from other disciplines in order to complete the architectural drawings and visualizations

  • Attending meetings with the Architect (formal meetings) and following up decisions

  • Maintaining current library of imagery elements

  • Keeping up to date on current software and imaging trends and techniques

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or technically based College Diploma

  • 3+ years of related experience with Architectural or A/E firm

  • Strong technical skills related to architectural design and rendering

  • Experience coordinating work, civil, structural and MEP disciplines

  • Ability to clearly communicate with peers

  • Diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields

  • Valid driver's license
