AECOM is seeking a Finance and Accounting Intern to be based in our West Paducah, KY location.
Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:
The AECOM Internship Program is designed to engage students from colleges, universities and technical schools in the practical application of a major administrative or technical study and to familiarize the intern with the interactions and requirements of the industry. Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience.
Under close supervision, follows established procedures in performing accounting duties of limited scope and complexity requiring professional knowledge of accounting theory and principles.
Displays knowledge and ability to apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related accounting tasks.
Compiles information for posting to the general ledger; assist in the preparation of invoices.
Assists in the preparation of schedules of monthly billing statements for clients and/or assists in payroll functions.
Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment.
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited 4 year college or university and seeking a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Accounting, Finance, or related field withthe intent to attend the subsequent term as a full-time student.
Must have completed a minimum of 90 prior to the start of the internship.
Must have at least 12 hours of accounting credits and be eligible for graduation within three semesters.
Desired candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
Basic understanding of accounting concepts.
Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States.
Prior internship in related field
Proficient on 10-key calculator
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
