Job Summary

Our Transportation team continue to grow and we have currently a fantastic opportunity for you to bring your technical expertise in the area of transport planning and traffic engineering to our Wellington team.

Wellington based, this role will provide you with the opportunity to get involved with projects further afield in New Zealand and Australia as opportunities arise and will appeal to someone interest ed in working in a collaborative team environment on small and large projects.

Day to day you will be involved with:

  • Applying your transport planning knowledge on project investigations, feasibility studies and with traffic/transportation modelling.

  • Undertaking traffic impact assessment for larger transportation schemes but also as part of resource consent application for business developments

  • Undertaking economic evaluation of transport schemes including business cases.

  • Assist with NZTA Business Cases for transport projects

  • Client interaction – understanding scope and bigger picture, able to justify design decisions, understand the deliverable.

Minimum Requirements

We are seeking an intermediate level traffic engineer with experience which will likely include:

  • Traffic impact assessments.

  • Economic evaluation of transport schemes including business cases.

  • Knowledge and experience of supervising and project managing traffic engineering schemes on time and within budget.

  • Experience of leading and working as part of project teams that develops cost-effective and innovative design solutions as part of traffic engineering and urban realm schemes.

Equally important will be your ability to be a strong, dependable team player, contributing to the team success and strong client focus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; report writing, development of proposals.

  • Proven results in building client relationships and business development skills.

  • Experience in traffic signal design and specification desirable.

  • Traffic modelling skills an added advantage.
