Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Technician for immediate employment in Watford City.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct routine Operations & Maintenance (O&M) on a remediation system at an Oil & Gas facility

  • Work will occur Monday through Friday from 8 to 12 hours per day

  • Operate a remediation system; monitor system parameters/performance; collect system performance data; document and communicate system performance; and conduct routine maintenance activities

  • Employee must comply with all company and facility safety protocols and requirements

  • AECOM will provide required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in oil/gas field services or environmental industry

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER trained and current Occupational medical screening (to be provided by AECOM)

  • Respirator fit-tested (to be provided by AECOM)

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Excellent note taking/documentation skills

  • Excellent personal communications skills

  • Willingness to work within Oil & Gas industry safety culture

  • Must be able and willing to work outside during North Dakota winter

  • Overtime work required

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade school or 4-year degree in science or engineering

  • OSHA 8-Hour annual refresher

  • OSHA 8-Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor

  • Environmental background (remediation, hydrogeology, geology)

  • Experience working with pumps and process equipment

  • Experience working with liquid hydrocarbons
