Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Subject Matter Expert - EMP and Site Evaluation for immediate employment for the Washington D.C. office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Will act as a Subject Matter expert in the assessment and evaluation of critical operations, command and control, communications and data centers for various US Government, state and local agencies. This will include electromagnetic pulse protection

  • Critical Facilities: Assessment and evaluation of over 100 command, operations, communications and data centers worldwide

  • Efficient Design and Construction: use of resources providing maximum protection and support to command, control, and communications systems to include preservation of critical personnel

  • Risk Management: threat assessment, threat mitigation and survivability of all hazards (chemical and biological protection, electromagnetic pulse protection, security, endurance and continuity of government)

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering discipline

  • 15+ years of experience, 3+ years of which included overseeing and coordinating all technical aspects of small to mid-size projects

  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to apply for reciprocity in multiple states

  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code, NFPA and the Life Safety Codes

  • Interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills a must

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

  • Proficient with MS office suite of products including Work , Excel, Power Point and MS Project

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct Experience with Health Care and/or Life Sciences Projects

  • Direct experience with large power systems modifications including the addition of protective relaying, diesel generation, medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage and low voltage substations.

  • NECCS registration

  • LEED certification

  • PMP or other Project Management certification
