Position Title Senior Vice President - Federal Civilian Agency Team Leader

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented, high-energy professional to serve as our Federal Civilian Agency Team Leader. The incumbent will lead the civilian federal agency team to build effective teams, inspire team performance, robustly communicate, and manage/drive growth and strategies on a multi-million dollar government agency program that currently exceeds $320M annually. The Team Leader will be expected to demonstrate the passion, vision, and ability to plan, drive strategies and initiatives with others, and contribute positively and inspiring efforts on the national strategies and teamwork required in the National Governments business line. In addition, the individual will bring a passion for developing and growing the Federal Civilian Agency business. The Federal Civilian Agency Team Leader will interface directly with agency representatives, ensuring the development and execution of an effective engagement plan with clients.
This position will report to the Executive Vice President of the National Governments Business Line in DCS Americas and may be based in any of AECOM’s offices in the United States. There is a preference to have this position based in the Washington DC area. Some overnight travel will be required.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Develops forward thinking strategies, data-driven sales analyses, initiative action plans, and recommendations that align with our AECOM goals
Supervises and serves as manager to 7-9 subordinates i.e. client account leaders for key federal civilian agency accounts
Ensures thorough semi-annual performance reviews, individual development plans, as well as succession planning and career development of subordinates
Leads the civilian federal agency team in market analysis work and development of sound strategies and initiatives for program growth
Ensures team coverage of high priority industry events, as well as key professional and technical associations and other events that have major positive impact on client relationships, rapport and interface
Maintains situational awareness across all DOD/Federal clients
Monitors client performance ratings and engage with the Client and AECOM operations in rectifying deficient performance
Provides strong leadership in cross selling all AECOM capabilities across multiple geographies, regions and business groups
Guides the Federal Civilian Team on initiatives that are of strategic importance to AECOM
Reports periodically to management on progress on strategic initiatives and performance against established goals/ performance metrics
Provides leadership within the Federal Civilian Team and throughout the National Governments team to ensure growth, effectiveness, teamwork and success of entire team
Effectively balances the needs of near term goals (for example, bookings) with longer term results, like contract wins, to ensure success and growth are maintained year to year
Knowledge of DoD/Federal acquisition strategies and programs and experience with the component business line requirements spanning asset management, environmental, public works, capital improvements, and contingency engineering
Proven effectiveness in developing successful business initiatives and influencing participation outside of your direct line management authority
Proven experience with developing and leading strategic initiatives, driving growth, and achieving goals within federal markets
Strong ability to interface with government agency representatives
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field
15+ years of related experience
Previous management of federal civilian agency accounts
Experience analyzing market conditions and developing corresponding business strategies
Knowledge of the Architecture / Engineering / Construction industry and potential competitors / team partners to AECOM
Currency and breadth of Federal Civilian Agency client points of contact
Must possess a strong background in federal procurement and acquisition programs with civilian federal agencies and the DoD
Proven background in business development activities including pursuit initiation and management, teaming, proposal development and general marketing support
Must possess effective communication skills to work within the National Governments business line, within DCS-Americas, and across other Business groups within AECOM
Strong overall analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Active Security Clearance - Secret
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Master’s degree or equivalent in related field
Strong understanding of the Congressional Budget / Appropriations life-cycle and DoD POM process
Previous supervision and management of key Client Account Leaders for federal civilian agency accounts
