Position Title C5I Systems Engineer (Combat Systems)

AECOM is actively recruiting for a mid to senior level individual with relevant and recent submarine combat system experience to provide system engineering and program management support to the COLUMBIA Class Submarine Non-Propulsion Electronics System (NPES)/C5I System Design Manager. The Systems Engineer will perform the following duties:
Provide direct support to the PMS397 NPES Chief Engineer in efforts to implement NPES systems supporting the COLUMBIA Class Submarine Program.
Serve as a subject matter expert to coordinate between contractor and Navy organizations about Tactical Navigation and other NPES-related systems.
Interface with other NAVSEA programs and activities (e.g. PMS397, SEA05, SEA08, Strategic Systems Programs, NUWCNPT, and NSWCPD) as required to deliver NPES systems to the COLUMBIA Class Program.
Support the delivery and update of Government Furnished Information (GFI).
Facilitate timely decisions by cognizant team members in the review and adjudication of design products and written correspondence by the appropriate NAVSEA technical stakeholders in accordance with Ship Specifications and the NPES Functional requirements Document to meet commitment completion dates.
Establish and manage NPES commitments, tracking and reporting status.
Attend weekly meetings and other applicable meetings required to support the NPES Chief Engineer.Other duties as assigned including but not limited to the development and oral delivery of briefings for senior NAVSEA and industry leadership.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related scientific field and at least 10 years of job-related experience.
Knowledge of NPES systems including but not limited to tactical navigation, imaging, electronic support, and Radar.
Demonstrated ability to work in and lead diverse teams to resolve technical issues.
Demonstrated communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to routinely perform in high tempo environment and satisfy quick turnaround deadlines.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
At least five (5) years of related technical experience or experience working within a DoD Program Office or Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA); Submarine design, production and/or operational experience a plus.
Demonstrated understanding of Systems Engineering, Project Management and Process Improvement disciplines.
Engineering degree preferred, but not required
Must possess organizational skills, technical management skills, and ability to perform detail-oriented work.
Self-motivated, possess analytical skills and be customer-oriented.
Effective communication, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with computer hardware and software; proficiency in MS Office Suite.
