Position Title C5I Systems Engineer (Combat Control System) - Navy Submarine Program

AECOM is actively recruiting for a senior level individual with relevant and recent submarine combat control system experience to provide system engineering and program management support to the VIRGINIA Class Submarine Non-Propulsion Electronics System (NPES)/C5I System Design Manager. Provide technical support for Ship Design, Acquisition, Construction, Delivery, Test and Upgrade of VIRGINIA (SSN 774) Class submarines. The Systems Engineer will perform the following duties:
Provide direct support to the PMS450 NPES/C5I System Design Manager in efforts to implement NPES systems supporting the COLUMBIA Class Submarine Program.
Serve as PMS450E Subject Matter Expert, in the areas of new construction testing across NPES systems, combat control and weapon launch systems, ADCAP, TLAM, training, maintenance and platform certifications.
Coordinate and manage the TW394-DO-MAN-010 Interface Control Working Group/Payload System Interface Control Document.
Coordinate and manage the Common Weapon Launcher Development Plan BLK III/IV/V EB/PS efforts.
Coordinate and manage software fixes needed to support COATS and Dockside test events via the CPR Adjudication Board (CAB) process. Coordinate NPES software maturity assessments to reduce Program Office risk to new construction delivery schedules.
Coordinate and manage COATS Weapons Compatibility Testing (WCT). Validate weapons system certification readiness in support of post-delivery WSAT testing, SSSTRP and WSESRB certification briefings.
Coordinate and manage the EB Sim/Stim Programs plans for BLK III/IV/V Sim/Stim.
Coordinate and manage all VA Class OD44979/IEP products with NUWCNPT.
Coordinate and mange PMA280/281 VA Class Test Efforts and tasking in support of the following; Coordinate all of the PMA280/281 direct and indirect tasking supporting BLK III/IV upcoming ASAT, FT and BLK V efforts. Coordinate TTWCS 126.96.36.199 certification and flight test efforts for the BLK III/IV platforms. Coordinate the TTWCS 5.7/5.7 development efforts for VA Class BLK V VPM.
Coordinate and manage PMS450E Safety Efforts related to VA Class certifications and underway weapon system planned launch events with the SSSTRP and WSESRB. Support bi-weekly safety council meetings, review safety packages and hazard documentation for technical content and Program office acceptance criteria.
Attend weekly meetings and other applicable meetings required to support the NPES Chief Engineer.
Other duties as assigned including but not limited to the development and oral delivery of briefings for senior NAVSEA and industry leadership.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related scientific field and at least 11 years of job-related experience. Two years of job-related experience may be substituted for each year of college.
Knowledge of NPES systems including but not limited to submarine fire control, combat control, and weapons launch systems.
Demonstrated ability to work in and lead diverse teams to resolve technical issues.
Demonstrated communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to routinely perform in high tempo environment and satisfy quick turnaround deadlines.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
At least ten (10) years of related technical experience or experience working within a DoD Program Office or Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA); Submarine design, production and/or operational experience a plus.
Demonstrated understanding of Systems Engineering, Project Management and Process Improvement disciplines.
An active Government Security Clearance, i.e., an in-scope Background Investigation with Access having been granted within the previous two years, at the SECRET level.
Organizational skills, technical management skills, and ability to perform detail-oriented work.
Self-motivated, possess analytical skills and be customer-oriented.
Effective communication, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with computer hardware and software; proficiency in MS Office Suite.
