About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
AECOM’s is currently seeking a highly creative and talented Stormwater Technical Practice Leader. This position can be based anywhere in North America. This person will lead AECOM’s strategic approach for AECOM’s Stormwater practice in North America. This person will support projects and business development activities in the stormwater, as well as related endeavors. This position is flexible on location and can be virtual.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Provide consistent technical leadership to deliver high-quality services
support efforts on major water ¬pursuits, including participation in key marketing and business development efforts, development of pursuit strategies, review and input to teaming and staffing arrangements, production of high quality proposals, and participation in key interviews
Maintain and enhance personal technical skills in the stormwater practice, and continue to build personal reputation within the industry as well as the AECOM brand
Prepare and present technical papers and take lead coordination roles at industry forums to enhance AECOM’s reputation as a leader in the stormwater industry
Publish papers in peer reviewed journals
Build relationships with AECOM stormwater practices throughout the North Americas to help develop teams that can be mobilized to support project needs
Lead development of strategies to grow AECOM’s Stormater practice. Lead and support business development activities at the local and national scales
Act as an advisor in the Stormwater arena, including having a solid understanding of the current state of the science associated with green infrastructure
Exhibit a depth of understanding of local, regional, and national policies and guidance related to stormwater adaptation planning
Maintain regular and constructive communication with clients and project team members
Establish and maintain client relations which include city, county, state and Federal public officials
Bachelors of Science in engineering or related field
15+ years of responsible management and technical experience on major stormwater and green infrastructure projects, including planning, design, and construction phase experience
Excellent qualifications and widely recognized professional reputation in stormwater management
Must be an excellent written and oral communicator to include previous experience engaging with diverse populations of people (ie: internal employees, clients, public groups), writing technical reports, presentations, etc.
Strong skills in negotiation, conflict resolution and risk management
Strong project management and leadership skills
Strong business acumen and demonstrated business development skills
Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to work minimal supervision; organized; energetic and enthusiastic; and ability to build key relationships both within the firm and with external clients
Willingness and ability to travel and work with key staff and clients nationally
Availability to travel as needed to support other North American offices
Advanced degree in a relevant field of study
Professional Engineering registration
20+ years of responsible management and technical experience on major stormwater projects, including planning, design and construction phase experience
