AECOM is seeking a Senior Specialist, Employee Engagement professional who will play a key role in supporting and driving employee engagement efforts across DCS Americas. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Employee Engagement, this role will partner with business leaders, managers and Human Resources to drive the annual engagement survey process and associated action planning; employee retention programs; and integrate other people programs (eg: Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Management, Performance + Rewards, Recognition, etc.) with the overall Engagement Strategy through specific business-level efforts. As a subject matter expert, the Senior Specialist will stay current on best practices and new developments in engagement and retention; and will design and develop programs, and support efforts to affect positive change in engagement and retention in the business. They will provide guidance, coaching and support to leaders, managers and the HR community.
Position has the flexibility to telecommute within North America.
Specific efforts will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Alignment and development of programs and initiatives supporting a comprehensive employee engagement strategy; and supporting business ownership/accountability for employee engagement and retention
Plan and administer annual employee survey efforts, including results analysis, action planning and related activities with business leaders/managers and Human Resources
Guide and support business leaders, managers and HR with strategies and initiatives - supporting links between employee engagement, retention and business goals
Development, implementation, and support of retention programs for use across the organization.
Integration of the D&I strategy into engagement and retention programs to support AECOM’s focus of a diverse and inclusive organization
Support HR and business capability development in sustainable engagement efforts (Engage, Enable, and Energize), retention, and culture change to improve the employee experience and support a culture of high performance
Working across business lines and functions, integrate and align various functional programs and initiatives with engagement and retention strategies
Planning, support and utilization of technology platforms and approaches to support engagement of employees through communication, connectivity and employee feedback
Establishing meaningful metrics to determine effectiveness of programs/initiatives
The Senior Specialist, Employee Engagement will be results-oriented, and able to:
Build relationships; effectively promote ideas and influence behavior through strong collaboration with HR and business leaders
Scope and effectively plan and manage projects and initiatives, and partner with HR and other stakeholders in successful implementation and rollout
Deliver initiatives, tools, resources and other supports to complement engagement surveys and support the overall engagement strategy
Support OE capability and capacity of stakeholders
Support the translation of strategy into specific goals, tactics, action plans and deliverables
Identify issues and root causes; provide objective, practical, data-driven solutions that are sustainable
Drive, implement and measure solutions
Implement change strategies for large-scale initiatives
Influence and support culture change necessary to achieve business objectives
7+ years of Organizational Development (OD)/Organization Effectiveness (OE), Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational (IO) Psychology and/or applicable business experience
Strong Project Management and/or Change Management Skills
Excellent Time Management – ability to meet deadlines
Advanced interpersonal skills and professional acumen
Implementing change management - including the technical process management of change and the culture, engagement and retention strategies/initiatives to successfully achieve the change
Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, demanding environment
Ability to translate strategy into tactical implementation supporting business results
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed team environment and to collaborate across lines of business/functions
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to communicate at various levels within the organization with tact and professionalism
Ability to provide guidance and influence to senior leaders
Strong leadership and decision making skills
Strong presentation skills
Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs: PowerPoint, Word, Excel and other applicable software
Ability to travel to support business needs, less than 10%
- Master's Degree with 5+ years of Organizational Development (OD)/Organization Effectiveness (OE), Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational (IO) Psychology and/or applicable business experience
