Job Summary

THIS POSITION IS NOT AN AECOM DIRECT POSITION AND IS POSTED ON BEHALF OF OUR SUBCONTRACTOR, BSE. ALL RESUMES WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE SUBCONTRACTOR AND THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE HIRED UNDER BSE.

Maintains all TCTS AS, LATR PIP, Iridium and IMPASS systems/sub-systems and associated equipment. Assists in pod loading and equipment installation. Works under supervision of Instrumentation and Pod Systems Manager and Instrumentation Systems Lead Technician III. Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve problems, troubleshoots and repairs complex electronic circuits. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all TCTS AS and LATR PIP, Iridium and IMPASS subsystems and associated interface equipment. Extensive equipment handling and administrative processing to prepare/deliver equipment to meet exercise requirements. Documents maintenance actions in IEMS, various log books, and databases. May serve as IMPASS System Maintainer aboard various ships and deploy with equipment during FIREX events.

Performs troubleshooting, isolates malfunctions, and repairs to the component level. Uses complex RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators) and specialized test equipment (T4B Test Set, LIBSS test sets, LATR portable test units, and AS test sets) to perform troubleshooting, isolate malfunctions, and repair equipment to the component level when possible. Work typically requires understanding of GPS principles/theory, AC/DC power supplies, digital/analog signal processing, and RF theory. Work may be reviewed by supervisor or senior technician for compliance with accepted practices.

Supports special tests, evaluations, equipment relocations, and new equipment installations as required. Performs organizational and intermediate-level maintenance on assigned equipment.

Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. Performs corrosion control on all assigned equipment.

Other duties include:

Installs instrumentation equipment on various participant platforms.

Fabricates unique power and RF interfaces to allow installation and operation of LATR PIP assemblies for non-standard exercise participant platforms.

Completes DD1149s for equipment issue.

Provides technical support to visiting engineers.

TCTS/LATR Umbilical re-build

TCTS/LATR Hanger removal and replacement

Equipment delivery, travel to delivery points

Flightline/Equipment support during exercises at remote locations.

Forklift operation

Completes DD1149’s for equipment issue

Will be operationally qualified at designated tech level within 90 days of hiring or promotion.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Education Level

High school diploma or equivalent.

Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational school.

Formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance.

Minimum Experience Requirements

Four years’ electronic maintenance in the following areas:

Digital/analog signal processing;

DC power supplies;

Test equipment;

Low-voltage AC equipment;

Primary and secondary power equipment;

Two years’ TACTS/ACMI/TIS/AIS/TCTS experience (specifically in AS maintenance) preferred.

Ability to speak, read, and write English.4. Minimum Position Specific Training Required

Physically able to assist in lifting/carrying 190 lb. AS/PIP pods.

Required Certifications

Must possess a valid state Driver’s License.

Must possess and maintain an active DoD Security Clearance.

Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Local candidates preferred.
