Job Summary

Responsible for the daily performance and availability of the range networks. Oversees range IT network operations and assists in directing the work of all local and coast range IT team members in accordance with contract requirements:

  • DoD Certification and Accreditation

  • Information Systems Security

  • Vulnerability Assessment and Mitigation

  • Network Administration

  • Risk Analysis

  • Network Security Auditing

Coordinates daily operations of a geographically dispersed IT team to successfully maintain network security and availability in a dynamic network environment.

Evaluates IT technical skills required to meet contract requirements.

Implement and maintaining DoD Enterprise Level Domain infrastructure using technology such as Cisco, Microsoft, Linux, VMware.

Assists in development and implementation of policies, standards and procedures for IT Operations.

Participates in technical design review meetings for compliance to DISA STIG, NIST or industry best practices.

Collaborates with engineering, cybersecurity and operations teams to ensure cross team involvement and utilization.

Travels in support of programs, projects, site reviews and meetings.

Evaluates training requirements for both current and new solutions, assesses training needs of team members and develops training plans to share with customer.

Provides Tier 3 trouble-shooting to isolate, diagnose, and fix problems dealing with servers, networking, and communication equipment.

Provides support for Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, IDS’, SolarWinds, Windows Active Directory, VMWare ESX and VCenter, SQL, IIS, DNS, ISA, automated patch management systems, DISA HBSS, PKI and Bit Locker.

Oversees testing and patching to network systems/devices to insure IAVA and STIG compliance and maintain network security and availability.

Creates and provides periodic status reports addressing current network health and status.

Participates in technical design review meetings for compliance to DISA STIG, NIST or industry best practices and work closely with Engineering on escalation of issues as well as new deployments/upgrades and requirements.

Supports Accreditation efforts and maintain Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) of network deficiencies and tasks to ensure timely closure.

Assists in the development of and implementation of configuration management procedures as a member of the Configuration Management Board.


Minimum Requirements

Minimum Education Level:

Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related discipline (Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field) plus 4 years of IT Systems Management or at least 8 years of a combination of IT Training, IT Certifications and progressively relevant work experience in the areas of:

  • Enterprise Network Administration

  • IT System Planning, Design, Development, Implementation and Maintenance

  • Managing a dynamic IT organization with varying priorities

Minimum Experience Requirements:

Capable of Managing IT projects including design and implementation of new IT infrastructure, technologies and processes.

Experience developing Network Operations Policies, Standards and Procedures.

Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to relay technical information to Executive Management.

Ability to effectively lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Ability to partner with peer management to ensure resolution of service impacting issues.

Ability to write technical documentation, create management reports and metrics.

Ability to identify and analyze network quality and operational processes and then drive corrective/preventative action plans.

Ability to grow and motivate team members and assists in the evaluation their work. Oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

Must take initiative and be a self-starter.

Flexible and able to handle competing priorities.

Must have and maintain a secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

VM Ware experience.

Lifecycle support of the DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) Process (DIACAP or RMF).
