Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Quality Inspector, Junior to be based in our Virden, Manitoba location.

This position will use the applicable procedures, codes and standards to perform quality inspections and test on the applicable discipline to determine the acceptability of the work while under the supervision of Senior/ Intermediate Quality control Inspectors. This personal needs to be able to complete the documentation and turnover packages since Virden doesn’t not have any other quality resources.

May include the following responsibilities:

  • Assists intermediate and senior inspectors on the timely execution of the project construction quality control activities within the applicable discipline. Ensure the inspection documentation is completed within the designated timeline.

  • Assist in compiling all required quality documents for turnover packages in order to meet project deadlines and schedules.

  • Assist with the project quality inspection and test plans. Ensure that the requirements are being followed, signed off, and available for viewing.

  • Develop a full understanding of the NCR (Nonconformance Report) and rework reporting systems and work trend analysis.

  • Assist in processing and compiling responses to internal personnel and the Client in regards to NCRs, Corrective Action Reports (CARs), Quality Surveillance Reports (QSRs) and Preventative Action Reports (PARs).

  • Assist with the generating, closing and sign off of Preventative Action Requests.

  • Assist with preparing, reviewing, and submittal of Request for Information (RFIs) to the client. Close out each RFI as work is completed by the Construction group.

  • Assist in the preparation and participate in the Clients Audit of company's Construction and Quality of the project deliverables.

  • Assist with reviewing the Construction Work Package (CWP).

  • Attend and contribute information during team meetings with regards to current/outstanding issues and/or weekly process.

  • Collaborate with other functions to enhance project success on an as needed basis required by the Technical Services Lead.

  • Post, review and print off any required information from The Ecosystem which pertains to current tasks, responsibilities and projects.

  • Mechanical/piping and this personal needs to be able to complete the documentation and turnover packages since Virden doesn’t not have any other quality resources.

This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of college diploma/ CET certification required

  • Previous experience working in a trade required

  • 1-2 years of experience

  • Intermediate computer skills : Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certification

  • H2S Alive Certification

  • A valid Class 1 or Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract are requirements of this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman Trade Certification preferred

  • Professional designation preferred

  • Civil Inspectors: CET designation

  • Mechanical Inspectors: API 510

  • General understanding of International Codes and Standards ASME B31.1 & B31.3, ASME I, II, V, VIII, IX, and API 650/653/686

  • Knowledge of piping, rotating, non-stationary and stationary equipment

  • Understands Quality Inspection Procedures and Tools

  • Previous experience in construction activities/projects
