Job Summary

The Orange Environment Group is actively seeking an Entry-Level Geologist to provide Field and Office Support for Site Assessment and Remediation Projects. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support environmental and geotechnical assessment and remediation projects by providing field support, data management and interpretation, technical assistance, and reporting

  • Perform field work that will consist of supervising drilling and well installation activities, logging test borings, and collecting soil, surface water, groundwater, and soil gas samples

  • Critically review and evaluate new information in the context of the project objectives and regulatory environment

  • Assist with quality assurance/quality control of work product, and development of health and safety plans and work plans

  • Consider issues from both broad and detailed perspectives, locating errors and logical inconsistencies in cross-disciplinary work

  • Research and solve technical problems, apply established technical approaches/process/methods in accordance with accepted practice/methodology, and report on results

  • Interact with multi-office and multi-discipline teams within AECOM, and work under supervision and direction by Project Managers and more senior technical resources

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (Geology)

  • Valid US State Driver’s License and ability to travel (50% travel required - Field Assignment)

  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an ability to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to learn through on-the-job experience

  • US citizenship required

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment physical, substance abuse test, and background screening

  • Proficiency in standard MS Office suite software applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in geological sciences

  • OSHA 40-hour training
