Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

  • This position is contingent on the award of contract.

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Cost Analyst for immediate employment in the Cost Analyst office. This position is a temporary (approximately 6 months, possibly longer) reporting to the Alaska Operations Engineering manager.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes scopes of work through document review and interview with project and task managers

  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors

  • Calculates/prepares various comparison reports, charts, and tables for project analysis

  • Develops budget forecasts; monitors progress of work to assure adherence with budget

  • Prepares special reports, studies, etc., requested by the client and or project management

  • Performs change order/impact analysis

  • Participates in contract processes with client, subcontractors, and others as required with respect to cost elements

  • Ensures that corporate cost control and estimating standards are implemented and that all project related activities comply

  • Develops/implements project controls standards and procedures; monitors compliance, initiates corrective measures as necessary

  • Works with management to organize schedule changes due to backlogs, scope changes, and material or labor shortages. Prepares work orders for purchase requests based on work schedules

  • Evaluates field and deliverable work specifications and data to determine processes, tool, and manpower requirements

  • Interacts directly with Project, Task Managers and field crews and may interact on a limited basis with clients and sub-consultants

  • Adherence to client-specific contractual requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, regulatory, engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience

  • 8+ years of experience in providing cost analysis for large projects or companies which includes:

  • Budget development

  • Financial forecasting

  • Financial variance analysis

  • Report and presentation development and preparation

  • Economic analysis/earned value reporting

  • Participation in contract bidding processes

  • Key performance indicator development and reporting

  • Interacts with Project and task managers to provide cost analysis support for their projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated proactive problem solving skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (PPT, Excel, Access)

  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility

  • Team oriented and customer focused

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with stringent deadlines

  • Organized with ability to prioritize and delegate

  • Able to travel for project specific assignments; be on remote work assignment for a minimum of six months at a time; work regular business hours to support the core team as well as flexibility to work long hours and weekends to meet deliverable deadlines
