Job Summary

The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer for immediate employment in the Traverse City, Michigan office. The appropriately qualified candidate will demonstrate an established career in Highway and Roadway design for MDOT, private, and municipal clients.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Working primarily on MDOT civil highway, municipal and private development projects

  • Coordinating on a regular basis with Michigan office leads in Structural, Traffic Planning and Engineering, Pavement, and Civil/Site/Landscaping for workload, staffing, project needs, and quality control

  • All QA/QC activities for the assigned project

  • Project financials, invoicing, cash collections, maximizing profit

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

  • 10+ years of professional experience

  • Michigan PE or the ability to obtain

  • MDOT design experience and working relationships with MDOT staff

  • Experience developing and mentoring staff

  • Experience designing projects valued at more than $2 million construction value

  • Experience projecting staff workload

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with marketing, proposal prep, fee preparations, negotiations, and contracts

  • Experience developing and managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and cash flow for a minimum staff of 5

  • Michigan Department of Transportation experience

  • Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads and AutoCAD
