Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a hardworking Roadside Assistance Maintenance Program Supervisor for immediate employment. Incumbent shall provide Roadside Assistant and Maintenance (RAM) Services to support GDOT State Maintenance Office and District Maintenance Offices. Incumbent will serve as an extension of GDOT’s State Maintenance Office and Incident Management Unit (H.E.R.O. Unit) providing the District Maintenance Offices and State Traffic Operation Division with real time traffic information, identifying highway deficiencies, assisting stranded motorist, removing debris from roadways and providing local authorities with traffic control on accident scenes.

This position supports higher level RAM Program Management, GDOT Maintenance Operations, and State Traffic Management Center Operations, in preparation of data collection, roadway inspections, traffic incident management, scenes assessments and motorist assistance. In this position, you will use a significant amount of decision making and use of judgment, as well as providing instructions and information to others.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise a team of RAM Operators and Dispatchers, ensuring that all state, federal, and company’s safety compliance, policy and procedures, quality assurance, customer services are being performed

  • Perform routine route inspections to ensure performance measures and accountability of operators

  • Meet with GDOT Officials and local authorities, to discuss strategies, and best practices for incident management

  • Function as a lead Operator on vacant routes and dispatch positions to ensure adequate coverage, and supervising and training lower level staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduation from high school and equivalent certificate(GED)

  • 3+ years of progressive transportation Maintenance/Construction experience for a State Highway Agency; or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience

  • Working knowledge of the Manual of Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)

  • Working knowledge of GDOT policies and procedures

  • Working knowledge with GDOT Asset Management System (AGILE)

  • Basic knowledge with dispatch procedures and the Traffic Management Center

  • Working knowledge of basic automotive repair

  • Ability to demonstrate a positive customer service attitude - both to coworkers (internal and external customers(

  • Ability to be on call 24/7 and be willing to respond to after hour call outs

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to make good sound decisions in stressful situations

  • Must submit to and pass background check as per Company policy and Company’s Contractual requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role relating to Traffic Incident Management or Roadway Maintenance OR equivalent job related field
