Job Summary

We are looking for a Freedom of Information (FOIA) Analyst to conduct FOIA, Mandatory Declassification Reviews, and Privacy Act Reviews of classified and unclassified records in support of the Department of Defense (DOD). In these reviews, the candidate will use his/her analytical skills to apply DOD policy and procedures in researching and making determinations on documents for declassification, exemption, exclusion or referral to other agencies. Specifically, the analyst will

  • Analyze unclassified and classified documents to determine the appropriate action needed in accordance with the FOIA, E.O. 13526, the Privacy Act, and other government policy documents.

  • Perform quality checks of all products prior to submittal to the government for review.

  • Coordinate with directorates, special staff offices, other government agencies, and forward offices located in the Command’s area of responsibility.

  • Maintain files and prepare summaries of cases reviewed.

  • Use electronic records management and tasking tools to process cases.

Track progress, documenting within tracking databases, Excel Spreadsheets and progress reports.

Minimum Requirements

Must have demonstrated strong analytical skills, reading comprehension, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.

  • Able to research information and ask questions to make informed decisions.

  • Ability to properly recognize actual and possible nuclear weapons and intelligence information in any and all types of documents.

  • Proper understanding of document markings and ultimately proper handling.

  • Ability to process document reviews in accordance with government rules, regulations, and laws.

  • Final DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Knowledge of Joint Command or Combatant Command environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree is highly desired

CENTCOM, COCOM, Joint Command, or military intelligence experience desired.
