Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Tampa, Florida office.

Our workload includes entertainment resort projects, municipal buildings, hotels and commercial facilities throughout the State of Florida and the Caribbean.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Electrical Engineering Design, specific to theme park attractions, medium voltage distribution, commercial (i.e. restaurants, strip plazas, and office buildings) facilities, or roadway lighting for County and Municipal Governments and commercial clients. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including: Theme park attractions, site infrastructure, medium voltage distribution, office buildings, industrial facilities, hangar facilities, airfield lighting vaults, bulk fuel storage, pipeline and terminal facilities, tolling facilities, roadway lighting and water/wastewater pumping and processing facilities for such clients as the DoD (Air Force and Navy), NASA Kennedy Space Center, and FDOT.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with other senior staff in the Tampa office and with other AECOM offices in the development of electrical engineering calculations and the development of design documents

  • Performing work, which may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements

  • Planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria

  • Devising new approaches to problems encountered

  • Overseeing the work of junior level staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering related discipline

  • 10+ years of engineering experience

  • Previous experience developing Revit electrical engineering models for a multitude of building types including high rise structures

  • Proficient with production of construction drawings utilizing Revit Building Information Modeling software and AutoCAD

  • Experience in all types of building construction including Commercial, Institutional and Residential high rise projects

  • Proficient in the production of project specifications

  • Knowledge of the Florida Building Code and the National Electrical Code

Preferred Qualifications

  • Florida Professional Engineer Registration

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs

  • LEED certification
