Job Summary

AECOM has an immediate opportunity for a Computer Network Defense (CND) Watch Analyst to join our teamMacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. This is a great opportunity for someone in the early stages of their career!

Perform Tier 1 and 2 Computer Network Defense (CND) duties on a 24x7x365 network defense watch floor for an enterprise wide organization. Duty location is USSOCOM HQ, MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. This position is on a shift basis; night and/or weekend rotations may be required.

Duties includes:

Responsible for the analysis and triage of network anomalies that should be considered Events of Interest (EOI). Provide basic assessment of the anomaly; designate it as an EOI and coordinate response with CND response team.

Responsible for escalating EOIs to responders in a timely manner, with all required information to ensure the response team may act accordingly.

Assists with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls.

Reviews multiple data sources to gather Indications and Warnings and Attack Sensing and Warnings information.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

Participates in special projects as required.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have:

Active TS/SCI clearance

DoD 8570 IAT II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.

2-5 years of data security administration or related experience (i.e. cybersecurity, CND, Host Based Security System, Info Assurance, etc.)

Education: Bachelor's Degree, Vocational training or HS diploma

Other experience:

Good understanding of networks at packet level. Able to analyze packet captures at the expert level

Experience using CND tools to detect network attacks; CND tools include:

Enterprise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)tools (i.e. SPLUNK, ArcSight)

Intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS; IPS)

Web Content monitoring systems (Bluecoat Reporter)

Firewall and syslog logs

Monitoring ePO dashboard (HBSS) to identify cyber security incidents

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience in the Special Operations Forces (SOF) environment

CASP or CEH certification

Bachelor’s Degree
