Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Railway Signalling Engineer join our rail team at Associate Director level in Sydney working on a variety of rail projects predominantly for our NSW clients but occasionally assisting other states and regions.

As a Rail Expert with the world's #1 ranked engineering design firm, you will be exposed to a range of projects and stakeholders providing you with an opportunity to apply your experience on major to mega rail projects.Current and recent projects include light rail, metro, passenger rail, freight and high speed rail.You will work efficiently in an autonomous environment as well as contributing as part of the wider Civil and Infrastructure and AECOM team.

Minimum Requirements

The person appointed will be responsible for the technical, on time and on budget delivery of these projects. This position requires the candidate to oversee railway signalling designs from feasibility, through concept and ultimately to full detail design. The candidate will be required to undertake checking and verification of designs and provide technical support to construction teams.

As a principal signalling engineer you will:

  • Provide technical railway signalling design, checking and verification.

  • Carry out general engineering duties to ensure quality and systems/process requirements are achieved.

  • Undertake site inspections and prepare reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Signalling expertise at all stages of the project life cycle including testing and commissioning

  • Maintain, develop and retain the highest standard of signalling discipline technical skill.

  • Be a flexible professional with the ability to work in a number of differing consultancy environments and situations across the project lifecycle.

  • Commitment to mentoring and building signalling capability

  • Provide accurate and professionally responsible outputs on program and on budget.

  • Appropriate tertiary/discipline qualifications

  • Appropriate signalling accreditation/licence

  • A broad range of signalling technical skills in the field of rail engineering consultancy

  • A proven track record in working on and leading multidisciplinary rail projects, across the project lifecycle

  • Extensive expertise in stakeholder consultation and management

  • Developed project management skills

  • At least 20 years signalling experience
