Job Summary

An opportunity exists for two individuals to join our site based team in support of a major programme of work for the MoD.

AECOM is currently negotiating the next phase of the UK DIO contract and, once the negotiations have been completed, we will be looking for staff to fill a large number of interesting and challenging roles. It is anticipated that we will be recruiting for several staff for the roles. The roles will be across three locations so there will be some flexibility and in some cases there might well be a chance to work from home for part of the week. The approximate start and end dates is still to be confirmed, but we are looking for a mixture or full time employee’s and fix term contracts(6-18 months)

Previous experience working in the defence market is not a pre-requisite in the vast majority of cases.

Security Clearance will be required, so you will currently possess or be willing to go through the process of securing.

Minimum Requirements

As part of the PM team, you will be responsible for one of the following tasks.

Task 1:

  • Review current toolsets and processes (and others that are planned) which could be used to establish a site level assent management plan system; identifying gaps and overlaps.

  • Document a framework for site assets management plans (the system) which draws on existing and to be toolsets and processes.

  • Set out how site assets manage plans are to be operationalized and the process for informing strategic and local planning of infrastructure investment proposals, customer engagement at site level and co-ordination of IP activities at site level.

  • Set out a roll out plan including the development of the additional required toolsets and processes.

  • The desired outcome of this effort is a joined up coherent approach to asset management planning at site level, which:

  • Supports repair / replacement decisions.

  • Gives a focus as asset component sustainability and maintaining critical assets.

  • Gives the ability to prioritised limited funding based on robust and evidence based data.

  • Ensures that statutory and regulatory compliance is achieved

  • Demonstrates service levels are being met or not.

  • Improving response times to emergencies and the safety of assets.

Task 2:

  • To provide project management expertise to control and drive successful development population and deployment of the FCM.

  • To provide expert support on development, collection and verification of condition assessment data (requires contract action with a 3 rd party) to undertake physical inspection of building elements.

  • To plan and manage the loading of field condition rating assessments into the Infrastructure Management System (IMS).

  • To set out how the FCM will be operationalized within DIO processes and decision making processes.

  • The desired outcome for this task is:

  • for UK and Overseas assets there is: a Building System Element Condition Rating; a Facility Condition Index (FCI); and a Deferred Maintenance Cost Estimate.

  • This data is then used to determine the forecasted programme of repair and life cycle replacements and the impacts using industry standard forward maintenance indexes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Qualified – ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree

  • Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution
