AECOM is seeking a 1st shift industrial Plant Maintenance Technician IV for our maintenance team in a new automotive manufacturing facility in Summerville, SC!
- Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
The Plant Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance on facilities systems and associated equipment for an 2,500,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
Equipment includes, but is not limited to electrical distribution, plumbing, & piping systems, air compressors, compressed air driers, air conditioning equipment, fire monitoring, alarm and protection systems, building automation system, and other related building equipment and systems
Also provides work planning / scheduling and coordinates/oversees subcontractor activities, and assists craft technicians in other facility maintenance trades and services.
The Plant Maintenance Technician IV must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.
Identifies and corrects problems with the plant facilities equipment such as electrical distribution, air conditioning equipment, water distribution and sanitary drains, air compressors and driers, chillers, cooling towers, and boilers.
Leverages practical experience maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting the following equipment/systems: pumping systems, refrigeration, natural gas distribution and gas fired equipment, heat exchangers, air compressors, large/medium roll-up doors, truck loading stations (dock locks, etc)
Repairs piping systems including pumps, motors, and valves.
Develops proficiency to become the facilities expert on plant support equipment and facilities infrastructure.
Monitors building automation systems to ensure proper operation of air handling equipment and room temperatures including start up and shutdown, and normal operating conditions. Makes adjustments as necessary.
Performs daily “Rounds” readings and submits summary status reports to management on issues and equipment condition.
Performs Corrective and Preventative Maintenance work orders per established schedules.
Participates in the development and modification of site operations procedures for equipment and recommends facilities reliability improvements.
Understands predictive maintenance methods (infrared thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasonic) and implements processes to identify and repair equipment prior to failures occurring.
Identifies critical spare parts requirements and makes recommendations for purchasing and stocking levels.
Analyzes problems, recommends solutions, and initiates repairs.
Understands and complies with all Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) programs and procedures. Applies proper safety practices and follows procedures while performing maintenance tasks. Maintains a safe work environment.
Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Five years of experience as an Central Utility Plant Operator, Stationary Engineer, or a similar role related to an industrial central utility plant, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, high-visibility reflective vests, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Experience in working with industrial or manufacturing plant HVAC systems, air handling units, air compressors, air dryers, heat exchangers, exhaust systems, and building automation control systems.
Understanding of and experience working with fire protection systems.
Experience with using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); MAXIMO experience is a plus.
Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.
Experience working with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
