AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Civil Inspector for immediate employment in Staten Island, NY.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform onsite inspections during final cover installation for conformance with the Contract documents
Document the site conditions, equipment and manpower usage and the work being performed by the Contractor
Verify that the equipment used during the installation meets the Contract requirements and document the equipment used, person using the equipment, current calibration and that all required temperature and weather conditions are in conformance with the Contract specifications
Document and track the material installations and quantities
Confirm that all onsite testing during installation are in conformance with the Contract Specifications
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of experience
2+ years of experience and training in the testing and inspection of earthwork, storm water drainage structures, granular materials, landfill caps and/or site improvements
Familiarity with the use and application of sand cones, nuclear density testing gauges, survey instrumentation and its appropriate applications
Experienced and functional with the use of MS Word and the preparation and population of Excel work sheets
- NICET certification, level I or II
