Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Community Outreach Coordinator for immediate employment to join the Connecticut RideShare team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in developing a career in community outreach. We are seeking the right talent that will engage with the local community through contacting and developing business relationships, become involved with local community events and promote the State of Connecticut RideShare program. The territory is Southwest Connecticut area and you have the option to telecommute from your home location.

Responsible for managing the project operations, including but not limited to:

  • Perform a range of transportation demand management, marketing, and planning-related projects, aimed at enhancing opportunities for individual travelers, commuters, and/or students to utilize non-drive-alone means of transportation, including carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, bicycling, walking, teleworking, and other options

  • Develop, promote, and/or implement a range of worksite and/or schools-based operational programs aimed at improving business operations and/or reducing on-site pollutants, to improve overall air quality and mitigate traffic congestion

  • Determine the appropriate sources and methods for the accumulation of research related to assignments

  • Provide TDM services to employers, schools, travelers, students, and others

  • Summarize TDM information and prepare draft presentation papers or research reports

  • Using prescribed methods performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced TDM professional

  • Assignments usually include one or more of the following: Research, TDM outreach, or public relations and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of TDM principles and techniques commonly utilized

  • Conduct peer reviews and makes technical presentations

  • Utilize sales techniques to grow partner base

  • Host worksite TDM events to promote the program's goals

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Communication, Marketing or related field; or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills and experience in handling multiple tasks in an organized and efficient manner

  • Experience using Microsoft office including: Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Physical Demands:

  • General office environment; may require visits to project sites

  • Some heavy lifting (<30 lbs) may be required

  • Field office work will require reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record
