AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Traffic Engineer for immediate employment in the Southfield, MI office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Manage traffic engineering-related tasks and projects, and lead the design of traffic engineering projects and/or tasks that involve the following: traffic signal design, roadway construction staging, pavement markings, permanent signing, traffic impact studies, traffic signal timing, and capacity analysis
Complete traffic engineering projects and/or tasks using traffic engineering software such as Synchro, Highway Capacity Software, MicroStation, and VISSIM
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Represent AECOM at meetings with clients, and make presentations of work products
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in traffic or transportation engineering or other related field
5+ years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleague
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Knowledge of industry standard engineering computer software (examples include software such as of Land Desktop/AutoCAD, InRoads, InSite, and MicroStation)
- Working knowledge of traffic engineering-related software applications such as RODEL, Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, and SignCAD
