Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, highly talented Project Accountant/Administrator for immediate employment in the Charlotte, NC office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides project and program support in such areas as cost accounting, organize meetings, project correspondence, meeting minutes

  • Provide project controls services to the program team including planning, scheduling, cost control, and earned value analysis

  • Develops and implements file structure and document control process associated with project

  • Assists program and project managers, technical editors, and field personnel in the coordination of project activities

  • Create reports for management, assist with presentation preparation, status reporting, files, databases, and document control

  • Assembles summary sheets for distribution to project managers

  • Ensures schedule coordination with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, and external clients

  • Assists Project managers with project performance compliance with Quality Management System, ensures that project billing and reporting deadlines are met

  • Act as Deputy Project Manager to assist with invoicing and tracking of project financials, etc

  • Coordinate Client requests and deliverables between the Project Managers, Staff, and Clients

  • Prepares various financial reports and provides analysis and recommendations based on findings Requires a proven ability to apply professional concepts in a productive, consistent manner

  • Maintains records according to generally accepted accounting practices

  • Performs audits and generates special financial reports

  • May interact with regulatory agencies and/or subcontractors to exchange information

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in finance or accounting or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience

  • 2+ years of work-related experience

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge and ability to assist with coordination of project construction administration requirements

  • Ability to review and analyze outputs of project control programs and oversee the production of accurate progress/performance reports

  • Familiarity with automated financial reporting/accounting environments

  • Knowledge of document control tools and setup, scope control and change management procedures

  • Ability to work effectively with both internal and external clients

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, collaborative, highly motivated, and highly responsive while maintaining attention to detail and a positive attitude

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ Years' experience preferable
