Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to support the performance of GDS China through the provision of appropriate Human Resource support. The role will support the local and global HR strategy, design and implement specific initiatives to support the goals of the business. A key focus of this role will be influencing and engaging with key stakeholders and working collaboratively with the local and global HR teams.

Lead HR for Global Design Services (GDS) China.

Act as a focal point of contact to provide consultancy and support to global and local Business Line leaders to address their human capital needs and business priorities.

Work closely with global and local Business Line leaders as a business partner to develop and implement solutions aligned to business objectives.

Partner with HR Centres of Expertise and Business Line leaders to drive HR projects including compensation and benefits, performance management, talent management, employee engagement and retention, and employee surveys.

Partner with Business Line leaders to develop and drive action plans in response to the results from employee surveys.

Improve HR service delivery whilst maintaining operational excellence and cost efficiencies.

Manage and drive staff utilization across GDS. Collaborate with other GDS Centres to improve utilization.

Ensure compliance of all HR practices with statutory requirements and the company’s Human Resources policies.

Implement HR best practices and policies.

Support and lead key HR strategic programs and initiatives as required.

Minimum Requirements

Degree in Human Resources or related discipline.

10-15 years of relevant progressive HR experience in HR service delivery, HR management in a sizable MNC.

Well versed in local employment legislation.

Strong people management, communication and interpersonal skills.

High degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in planning, organizing and guiding HR programs and activities.

Sound judgment with good problem-solving skills.

Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese for effective communication with global and local leadership and the HR team.

Effective influencing skills to be able to work with senior leaders, drive the HR agenda and change management.

Ability to develop and instill HR best practices to create a continuous learning organization.

Strong collaborative team player, able to think globally and act locally.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with engineering consultants or construction companies would be an advantage.
