The Transportation Business Line and the Pacific Region of AECOM are actively seeking a highly talented Transportation Business Development Account Manager for immediate employment located in the Seattle, WA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the transportation industry and have a successful track record of client account management and new project pursuits.
The position will report to the Area Executive for the Pacific Northwest and will work in a matrix organization, with local transportation and operations staff, regional leadership, and national transportation business line executives to position AECOM for new work with major clients in the Pacific Northwest and primarily western Washington. Those primary clients include, but are not limited to WSDOT, Sound Transit, King County (including King County Metro), Pierce County, Snohomish County, all cities in the Central Puget Sound region, and elsewhere across the state and the Pacific Northwest as our transportation practice grows. Focus will be on planning, design and construction management services. Cross over and collaboration between the transportation and environmental business lines will be encouraged.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work with the National Transportation Business Line leadership team, Area and Regional Executives (operations and business development), the Transportation Regional Business Line Leader (RBLL), and area Business Development Leads on development and execution of sales strategies
Formulate and execute business development and client capture strategies, including general marketing efforts and specific opportunity pursuits, complete with identification of required staff resources to win and effectively deliver projects
Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members
Identify upcoming transportation pursuits in the Washington transportation market
Position AECOM for pursuits that best fit our skillset and growth plans
Lead the proposal development process including team formulation, Statement of Qualifications, Technical Proposals and Presentations
Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing client relationships and establish new relationships; obtain an understanding of emerging technologies and market drivers
Maintain a high local and regional profile
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline
15+ years of experience in organizational development and leadership, project management, client service management, or business development activities for large scale transportation clients and/or projects
Proven track record with large client account management, project pursuit execution, and engineering/technical sales
Experience in client prepositioning activities, team (internal and external partners) and proposal development, and execution of selection interviews
Familiarity with local and federal funding and project development requirements
Team-oriented individual that can work with operations, project and marketing staff of all levels
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Must possess a valid driver's license
Graduate degree in Government or Business Administration, Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
Track record of increasing market share in the transportation sector
Recognized business development/client management leader
Recognized leader in developing and nurturing relationships with key clients
Recognized leader in professional organizations
