Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Environmental Manager, Transit NEPA for immediate employment for the Seattle, WA office.

In close coordination with the regional Transportation Business Unit Leader (BUL), regional leadership, and transportation practice leaders across the Americas, develop and maintain a team of highly skilled transportation environmental planning professionals to win and deliver transportation planning projects throughout the Pacific Northwest Area (Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Utah, and Montana), with immediate focus on major transportation clients in the Seattle metropolitan area, including Sound Transit, City of Seattle, King County Transportation and Metro, WSDOT, and other municipal and county clients. This is a senior leadership opportunity for the right person with an entrepreneurial spirit to build a transportation environmental planning team, founded on a highly qualified core group, to deliver transportation NEPA studies across the region. In addition, the successful candidate will be available to assist in client service and opportunity pursuits across the country.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Work with Transportation Business Unit Leader, Geography Business Development Leads, and regional transportation and environmental staff on development of organizational and sales strategies for transportation related environmental planning and overall transportation practice growth

  • Support national practice are in transportation related environmental impact assessment, primarily focused on Federal Transit Administration NEPA document

  • Assist in developing marketing and client capture strategies and plans

  • Develop organizational staffing plans to support marketing and client capture plans

  • Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers

  • Identify upcoming transportation pursuits in the Pacific Northwest transportation planning and design market

  • Assist in positioning AECOM for pursuits that best fit our skillset and develop regional staff for successful delivery of pursuits

  • Assist with the proposal development process including Statement of Qualifications, Technical Proposals and Presentations

  • Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing client relationships and establish new relationships; obtain an understanding of emerging technologies and market drivers

  • Maintain a high local and regional profile, while being available to assist with pursuits and projects across the country

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10+ years of experience in project management, staff and organizational development, client service management, or business development activities for large scale transportation clients and/or projects

  • Demonstrated expertise in the area of managing and preparing transit and transportation environmental impact assessments, with emphasis on transit projects

  • Proven track record with large client account management, project pursuit execution, and engineering/planning staff development

  • Experience in client prepositioning activities, proposal development, and execution of selection interviews

  • Team-oriented individual that can work with operations, project and marketing staff

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Valid Driver’s License required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in project management, staff and organizational development, client service management, or business development activities for large scale transportation clients and/or projects

  • Track record of increasing market share and staff effectiveness in transportation sector

  • Recognized business development/client management leader

  • Recognized leader in developing staff and nurturing relationships with key clients

  • Recognized leader in professional organizations
