Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Controls Engineer for immediate employment in the Seattle, WA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Sets up, develops and manipulates spreadsheets, as well as assist Project Manager with budget tracking

  • Assists Project Manager with administrative and financial aspects of medium size, complexity and risk projects

  • Assist Project Manager with submitting proper job setup data, forms and attachments

  • Assist Project Manager with setting up invoice, including format, required backup attachments and rates per client requirements, timing, review process, and plan for follow-up on any past due accounts receivable.

  • Review project metrics regularly and advise Project Manager of discrepancies or issues, investigating variances in data as needed, especially concerning invoicing clients, accounts receivable, subcontractor invoices, approval and payments, and other accounts payables

  • May review and track subcontractor invoices, coding as necessary, and escalating issues to Project Manager.

  • May prepare Work Authorization forms for new contracts, modifications and job closures

  • May review invoices for consistency with contract requirements and rates

  • May assist other Project/Contract Administrators in preparing contracts with clients and sub-consultants, as well as contract modifications, etc.

  • Interacts with Project Managers and accounting staff on an as-needed basis

  • Follows up and reports on accounts receivables, as well as unbilled issues, as assigned

  • Assist other project and contract administration staff as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting related field

  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Or demonstrated combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience

  • Willingness to learn and understand fundamentals of contracts and accounting principles

  • Familiarity with client-specific contractual requirements

  • Understanding of contract terms, accounting principles, and billing procedures

  • Strong problem solving, organizational, people, math and accounting skills

  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some experience in budget tracking helpful
